Job Description

Department: Drafting Employment Status: Full Time Job Title: Associate Drafter Position Type: Non-Exempt Level: Level III Travel Required: No Primary Location: Vernal, UT Reports To: Team Lead This position will perform duties for the normal operations of our services including drafting legal plats, complex cut/fill grading plans, right-of-way plats, alignment sheets, as built plats, complex multiwell designs and parcel surveys.  Must be able to work closely with others in providing backup and/or support. Responsibilities & Job Function:
  • Attendance, punctuality and reliability are essential
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to read and understand survey data
  • Ability to draft with excellent AutoCAD skills
  • Sound PC, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, File Management & organization skills
  • Ability to understand GEO coordinate systems
  • Ability to teach and train Level I & II Drafters
  • Responsible for knowing & understanding survey laws & methods
  • Manage accurate documentation of working projects
  • Must maintain superior communication, computer and documentation abilities
  • Completion of accurate time entered through eTime Track
  • Detail oriented with the ability to meet required deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Preforms other duties and assignments as required
Skills, Qualifications & essential job functions: Education and Experience:  2+ yrs experience with Civil Drafting & Design in the Oil & Gas Industry
Knowledge:  Meridian System & BLM
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Tools, Equipment, Software:  AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Civil Drafting and Civil Design
Additional: Ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift 30 lbs.  Honest, Professional, Organized, Pays Attention to detail, Dependability, Thoroughness, Documentation Skills, Inventory Control, Safety Conscious, Strong Work Ethic, Self-driven with little or no supervision.  Must be willing and able to enroll in the DISA Compliance & Policy program. 
Working Conditions The ability to sit for long periods at a time.
