The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine seeks an accomplished physician leader to serve as Associate Division Director, Clinical Operations. This senior leadership position partners closely with the Division Director, Division Administrator, Section Chiefs, and Department of Medicine leadership to advance the Division's strategic, operational, and clinical priorities across NYU Langone Health.
The Associate Division Director will provide physician leadership for clinical operations across the health system ambulatory and inpatient programs, driving operational excellence, improving patient access, advancing quality, and supporting continued growth throughout the NYU Langone Health network. This leader will play a central role in standardizing clinical operations, integrating care delivery across practice locations, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality patient experience.
· Partner with the Division Director and Division Administrator to develop and execute the Division's clinical operations strategy.
· Establish strategic priorities that advance clinical growth, operational excellence, patient access, and physician engagement.
· Identify opportunities for innovation, care transformation, and operational efficiencies across the Division.
· Provide physician leadership for ambulatory and inpatient clinical operations across Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and all subspecialty programs.
· Collaborate with physician and administrative leaders to optimize clinic operations, provider scheduling, session utilization, patient throughput, and resource allocation.
· Lead initiatives that improve access, reduce delays in care, and enhance multidisciplinary coordination throughout the patient journey.
· Develop and implement standardized operational workflows that promote consistency, efficiency, and high-quality care across all clinical sites.
· Lead the operational integration of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine services across the NYU Langone Health network, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, Westchester, and South Florida.
· Partner with site and program leadership to establish standardized clinical workflows, operational policies, and performance expectations across all practice locations.
· Promote consistency in patient access, care delivery models, scheduling practices, staffing approaches, and clinical operations throughout the Division.
· Identify opportunities to expand multidisciplinary programs and improve coordination of care across the health system.
· Collaborate with institutional leadership on strategic initiatives that strengthen regional growth, enhance patient access, and support system-wide clinical integration.

· Utilize operational dashboards and data analytics to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and implement sustainable improvements.
· Champion a culture of quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
· Collaborate with institutional quality, compliance, coding, and revenue cycle leaders to improve documentation, regulatory compliance, and value-based performance.
· Support implementation of evidence-based clinical practices and quality initiatives across all Division programs.
· Partner with Division leadership in physician recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, leadership development, and succession planning.
· Foster physician engagement and accountability for operational performance, access, quality, and patient experience.
· Promote collaboration among physician leaders across Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and subspecialty programs.
· Represent the Division on departmental and health system committees related to ambulatory operations, access, quality, physician leadership, and strategic growth.
· Build collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, ambulatory operations, nursing, and administrative partners to advance Division priorities.
· Perform other leadership responsibilities as assigned by the Division Director.
· MD or DO with board certification in Pulmonary Disease; with favored additional board certification in Critical Care Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and/or other related fields
· Eligible for medical licensure in New York State.
· Academic appointment at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level within the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
· Demonstrated leadership experience within an academic medical center or integrated health system.
· Proven success leading clinical operations, physician engagement, quality improvement, and operational transformation.
· Experience utilizing data-driven decision making to improve clinical performance and patient access.
· Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational, and collaborative leadership skills.
