What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Director, Transformation Strategy, the Associate Director will play a key role in advancing Toronto Pearson’s transformation into one of the most modern, sustainable, and passenger-focused airports in the world. As part of the Transformation Office, this role provides strategic insight and analytical leadership to evaluate business cases, conduct options analyses, and deliver data-driven recommendations that shape enterprise-wide initiatives. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional teams, the Associate Director will translate complex analysis into clear insights and compelling stories that drive high-impact decisions and meaningful change.

As an Associate Director, Transformation Strategy, you will:

  • Translate high-level strategic goals into clear, actionable initiatives that advance Toronto Pearson’s transformation.
  • Integrate & orchestrate a program of initiatives – working with business sponsors, project managers, and SMEs – from initial planning & scoping and target & metric definition through delivery
  • Build compelling business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessments, options analysis, and scenario planning, to guide decision-making.
  • Partner directly with executives and senior leaders to align initiatives with organizational priorities and long-term vision.
  • Synthesize program progress and qualitative & quantitative insights into clear recommendations and compelling presentations for senior leadership.
  • Lead high-impact, cross-functional projects from scoping & planning to implementation, ensuring measurable outcomes and realized benefits.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to project team members to elevate analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Engage executives and stakeholders regularly on project progress, success metrics, and value delivered.
  • Facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions, and leadership discussions to shape strategy and drive alignment.
  • Build strong partnerships across departments, supporting change management, communication, and stakeholder engagement to ensure adoption of transformation initiatives.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, business analysis, and business improvement that encompasses all aspects of org/people, policy, process, technology and analytics.
  • 3+ years working for a major consulting firm or in-house project delivery/transformation office.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple complex stakeholders, developing tailored approaches based on specific stakeholder needs and awareness, and framing progress and actions in clear presentations.
  • Excellent organizational and orchestration skills to ensure every meeting has clear objectives, all stakeholders are engaged, and prep activities are conducted proactively & effectively.
  • A strong consulting-style, problem-solving and ‘get it done’ mindset.
  • Proven experience leading projects, influencing stakeholders at all levels (incl. senior leaders/executives), and driving transformational change in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with front-line teams and executives, with creativity, initiative, and personal drive to turn abstract ideas and complex information into actionable strategies and compelling narratives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or a related field.
  • Interest in aviation and/or experience in the travel/transportation sectors is considered an asset.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance.
