We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering .

Principal responsibilities:

• Act as senior technical lead in the team
• Hands on core Java technologies development with Agile / DevOps practices
• Lead and mentor other more junior engineers in the team
• Design system architecture and application component for technical deliveries
• Contributes to technical delivery plans and timelines with effective sprint planning skills
• Write well designed, testable and efficient codes. Involve in deployment of the software you build.
• Communicate with upstream and downstream system teams for any planned technical deliveries.
• Work with various stakeholders in business and IT in transforming business requirements into sound solutions and ensuring delivery of solutions to be consistent with strategic architecture.
• Keep effective communication and maintain good relationships with all project stakeholders, including business, Finance Change, Global programme managers and other IT counterparts. Manage business expectations and negotiate compromise where appropriate.
• Work with architecture teams to ensure that solutions being designed are as aligned to future state architecture as much as possible without compromising on delivery timelines
• Functional management and mentoring of direct reports staff including personal development and career progression

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Java, Micro Service, etc.
• Has experience playing the role of Technical Lead
• Effective communication with other technical colleagues from global teams (UK, HK, GZ, India and Canada)
• Proficient in tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, Nexus, etc.
• Experience in software development on Unix / Linux platform.
• Experience in RDBMS and NoSQL databases
• Experience in data streaming technologies, such as Apache Beam, would be a plus
• Proficiency in verbal and written English communication skills
• Self-motivated. Can work independently and under pressure
• Disciplined approach to requirements analysis with a software engineering or computer science background (either at degree level or working for a software company)
• Experience dealing with senior business stakeholders with strong written and verbal communications skills
