About the role:

As China SHE Associate Director, you will play a key role in the safety, health and environment for employees and company by supporting SS&E head on operation and overseeing the execution of safety operations across region of China. You will be major contact person in China to Global SHE team and receiving global standard/guidelines and will work closely with the local teams in each site to localize global standard in each site and maintain consistently high SHE standards at all sites in China.

Your contribution:

• Provide guidance to ensure the effective implementation, integration and continuous improvement of BioNTech’s Global SHE Standards across all sites of China. This includes both strategic oversight and hands-on operational execution working under the guidance of China regional site leadership to maintain a unified, compliant and operationally effective SHE framework.

• Counterpart to global SHE team, receive and localize global SHE policy / procedure to China, build up and update SHE operation dashboard with global team

• Assist the department head in developing the annual performance targets for SHE in China based on the global SHE annual performance goals, and break them down to each site, monitoring the completion status of the annual performance targets.

• Oversee and actively manage the governance and performance of third‑party SHE providers, ensuring alignment with BioNTech's standards, contract expectations and long‑range capability requirements across all China sites.

• Assess and track risks, drive mitigation, monitor developments and steer incident response and investigations.

• Design and manage integrated SHE concepts, technologies and preparedness, ensuring effective, robust protection.

• Serve as the local SHE advisor, offering strategic counsel to executive leadership and business functions and ensuring that China business and SHE priorities are reflected in planning and decision‑making.
• 担任当地SHE顾问，为高层领导和业务部门提供战略建议，并确保中国的业务和SHE方面的重点能够体现在规划和决策过程中。
• Foster a proactive SHE culture across the China network, ensuring that SHE awareness, confidentiality and risk‑informed decision‑making are embedded into China site operations and employee behavior.

• Willingness to travel occasionally, both national and international

A good match:

• Degree in Pharmaceutical / Chemistry Industry / Engineering Management.
• 具备医药/化工/工程管理专业学士学位
• Fluent in English.
• 英语口语书写熟练
• 15 years or above SHE related management and compliance experience.
• 15 年以上SHE相关的管理和合规经验
• Understanding of key regulatory authorities for pharmaceuticals, medical devices and therapeutic goods (e.g. NMPA).

• On-Site SHE operations: Led SHE strategy establishment and continuous improvement in manufacturing, R&D and employee’s SHE management system, ensuring compliance with global SHE requirement, related laws and corporate policies. Drive each site to establish the effect risk management, accident prevention and emergency response process.

• SHE vendor management: Managed licensed guarding providers and SHE integrators; set KPIs/SLAs, ran performance reviews and enforced corrective actions.
• SHE供应商管理：管理有资质的SHE服务提供商；设定关键绩效指标/服务级别协议，进行绩效评估并强制执行纠正措施。
• Incident & Investigations: Conducted fact‑finding, evidence collection, and root‑cause analysis; produced investigation reports, CAPA actions and management updates.
• 事件与调查：进行事实调查、证据收集以及根本原因分析；编制调查报告、纠正预防措施方案以及管理更新内容。
• Regulatory/GxP compliance: Operated within GMP‑regulated sites; aligned SHE controls with facility segregation, documentation, and audit readiness expectations; supported inspections and audits.
• 法规/良好生产规范合规性：在符合 GMP 标准的场所内运营；将SHE控制措施与设施分区、文件记录以及审计准备要求相匹配；为检查和审计工作提供支持。
• Green Operation Management: Drive FM zero carbon projects, promoting sustainable development and green operations.

• China regulatory & compliance context: Applied knowledge of NMPA‑governed pharmaceutical production and facility controls; operated within PIPL/data‑protection requirements; adhered to China anti‑corruption/compliance standards for pharma/med‑device.
• 中国监管与合规背景：具备国家药品监督管理局（NMPA）监管下的药品生产及设施控制方面的专业知识；遵守《个人信息保护法》/数据保护要求；遵循中国针对制药/医疗器械的反腐败/合规标准。
• SHE On-site Center build‑out: Planned and stood up a SHE operation center, covering technical architecture, SOPs, staffing, shift design and runbooks.
• 现场SHE建设：规划并搭建安全控制室/安全运营中心，涵盖技术架构、标准操作流程、人员配置、轮班安排以及操作手册等方面。
• Regional SHE Operations: Oversee China Regional SHE Operations Center operations, including third‑party management and technical/operational integration with sites and the Global SHE Operation Center.
• 区域SHE运营：监督中国区SHE运营中心的运作情况，包括第三方管理以及与各站点及全球SHE运营中心的技术和运营整合工作。
