Job Description

This is the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders to assess market conditions, analyze competitor pricing, and evaluate potential impacts on patient access, providing strategic recommendations as our new Associate Director Pricing and Market Access, BAMECA. This position is in Business Area Middle East & Central Asia and located in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Your new position

As Associate Director Pricing and Market Access, BAMECA you will evaluate and drive pricing business cases from the affiliates covering our 22 markets. Your role will be to ensure comprehensive analysis and adherence to company policies and to develop and execute strategies to optimize patient access to Novo Nordisk products, ensuring alignment with broader company goals. You will also oversee and manage cross-functional projects, and lead and mentor local market access and pricing teams, providing guidance and support to enhance their capabilities and performance in executing regional strategies.

Your other responsibilities will be to

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of healthcare markets, regulatory environments, and payer landscapes to uncover opportunities and challenges affecting patient access.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish cohesive and innovative strategies aimed at improving patient access and ensuring successful product launches.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and advice on best practices to the affiliate teams to drive strong retail execution and innovative access projects.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Region Emerging Markets, International Operations (IO) and global teams to secure necessary approvals for price business cases and access strategies, facilitating a streamlined process.
  • Partner with finance by offering insights and recommendations based on historical data analysis, forecasting potential access challenges, and identifying resource needs to ensure sufficient funding for patient access initiatives and programs.

Your new department

Finance & Operations department is responsible for Finance, Procurement, Accounting & Tax, Treasury, Pricing and Access. We focus on identifying business opportunities, ensuring alignment between strategy and financial resource allocation, maintaining continuous information flow about the business, process excellence, and high compliance levels. We at F&O are business partners who work closely with affiliates creating a real and active partnership with the line of business and management. Our role is to provide proactively and 'real-time' support and analysis and to be a trusted adviser to senior management in strategic decision-making.

Your skills & qualifications

You hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with around 10+ years of experience in market access, pricing, or related roles within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors. A master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field is preferred. You should have excellent command over both written and spoken English. Moreover

  • In-depth understanding of market access frameworks, pricing strategies, and reimbursement processes within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries, particularly across diverse healthcare systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines affecting pricing and reimbursement at both regional and local levels, including knowledge of health technology assessment (HTA) processes.
  • Strong analytical abilities to assess complex pricing proposals, evaluate market dynamics, and drive actionable insights from data to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional projects, demonstrating the ability to execute multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining focus on objectives and timelines.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring teams, with a focus on developing talent and encouraging innovative thinking in local market access teams.
  • Knowledge of health economics principles and outcomes research methodologies that underpin market access decisions, enabling effective collaboration with HEOR teams.

As a person you are result oriented with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and have strong negotiation capabilities to advocate for favorable pricing and access positions.
