This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Associate Director of Healthcare Student Programs in the UNC Center for the Business of Health (CBOH) will lead Residential and Professional MBA students coaching and will also support growing programs and student opportunities within the CBOH at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School. This role will support graduate level students at UNC Kenan-Flagler who are seeking jobs in the health sector. The Associate Director plans and delivers career planning and job search programming to MBA students in small group formats, workshops, large classroom presentations, in-person and virtual. This position is also responsible for 1-on-1 and small group career coaching. The Associate Director will also manage and participate in career management-related initiatives and events throughout the year.

Additionally, the Associate Director will work with leadership within the CBOH to manage and grow existing CBOH co-curricular student programs including CBOH Career Networks and MBA Healthcare Club support. This role will also work with leadership to explore opportunities for new health-sector related student programs with cross-campus partners and the UNC Kenan-Flagler Office of Specialized Masters program team.

The Associate Director reports to the Senior Associate Director of Student Programs within the UNC Center for the Business of Health and will work closely with colleagues within the MBA Program across Career Coaching, Employer Engagement & Recruiting, and Operations.

• Candidates must be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the vast health sector ecosystem and the opportunities that students can pursue at the intersection of business and health.
• Critical skills include the ability to work across teams, build and manage positive working relationships, effective communication across diverse populations. Candidates should possess strong public speaking skills and be able to manage student professional needs for both those with healthcare backgrounds and those switching into the industry.
• The candidate should be able to engage with external partners and cross-campus partners who work with the CBOH, balancing existing and known priorities with new and emerging opportunities.
• The candidate must be able to work in-person during the academic year, be available to work evenings for various student events, and be able to travel up to 15% to support job-related functions.
• Preferred candidates will possess either a master’s degree, a coaching certification (ICF, NCDA, CCE, or other coaching organization) or assessment certification (Gallup CliftonStrengths, Birkman, Strong, DiSC, MyersBriggs or other).
• Five or more years’ experience either in an MBA-level role at a healthcare company, or as an executive or career coach in higher education or in the healthcare industry preferred.
• An understanding of MBA career landscape is helpful in this role.
• Knowledge of multiple stakeholders across the healthcare sector is highly valuable for this role (i.e. payers, providers, biopharmaceutical companies, healthcare consulting firms, etc.)
• An understanding of higher education environment.

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
