Job Description

Job Location: 2400 Moorpark Avenue, Suite 300 - San Jose, CA 95128
Salary Range: $121,000.00 - $134,000.00 Salary/yearThe Associate Director of Finance is a leadership role in the Finance department with responsibilities for maintaining financial books, preparing agency and program budgets, and overseeing contract fulfillment. This position assists the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with establishing policies and procedures and is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of department programs. The Associate Director of Finance manages a team to ensure that financial reports, invoices, claims, and other deliverables are accurately performed on time.
Duties and responsibilities
· Spearhead annual operating budget, prepare and monitor actual results to budget with explanations for significant variances throughout the year. Prepare programmatic budget proposals as agreed upon and facilitates timely submissions of new proposals.
· Build trust and support the financial needs of the program leads to ensure timely deliverables of invoices, budgets, and other financial reports. Work closely with program executives to help leaders understand their various program budgets and assists with optimizing funding.
· Manage a team of billers, accountants and financial analysts to ensure that financial reports, invoices, claims, and other deliverables are accurately performed on time.
· Assist CFO with establishing policies and procedures that build integrity, accuracy, and compliance with all fiscal requirements; assists with risk management responsibilities and HRSA fiscal compliance.
· Oversee contract fulfillment, monitor progress on contract deliverables, and run and prepare monthly program reports.
· Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of programs and services provided by the department. Support program managers in developing measurable outcomes.
· Supervise and evaluate the performance of the staff.
· Develop and implement training and professional development plans.
· Participate collaboratively in staff recruitment and retention.
· Assist with grant writing and reporting as necessary for programmatic operations.
· Represent the Finance department and AACI with funders, program monitors, community partners, and at association meetings and conferences.
· Coordinate activities with other programs of the agency.
· Complete other duties and related projects as assigned.

QualificationsEducation &

Experience:
- Bachelor’s level degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA, MBA or equivalent work experience with fiscal audits.
- Minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
- Experience working with grants and contract deliverables.
- Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or  nonprofit, community-based healthcare experience required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of relevant laws and ethical standards pertaining to finance and accounting.
- Understanding of GAAP and fund accounting, 45 CFR Part 75 cost principals, 2 CFR Part 200.
- Ability to lead, direct and manage staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze financial results and identify issues in time for corrective actions.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments with competing deadlines while working with colleagues in a productive manner.
Competencies:
- Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional and experiential backgrounds.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Working conditions
The job is performed in an interior office setting which has no adverse environmental conditions expected.
