The Associate Director, Nursing Operations is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned employees, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Cedars Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital (CSMDRH) and Cedars Sinai System philosophies. The Associate Director, Nursing Operations assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of budget, serves as liaison with medical staff and other personnel, promotes the maximum growth and development of each employee, supports research, participates in strategic planning, both long and short term, and assures patient advocacy. The Associate Director, Nursing Operations guides nursing staff in the provision of nursing care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, The Plan for Provision of Patient Care, CSMDRH Code of Conduct, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan and Professional Organization Standards.
The Associate Director, Nursing Operations maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special patient populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds. Responsible for assuring staff competency in provision of age related patient care. Identifies safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment and provide appropriate assessment, intervention and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population.
