Our National Accounts team supports established Ontario businesses with thoughtful advice, customized financing and access to specialized expertise across the organization. Desjardins is seeking an Associate Director, National Accounts to manage and grow strategic business relationships with mid-market and large corporate clients in Ontario. In this client-facing role, you will structure tailored senior debt financing and banking solutions, support portfolio profitability, and help Ontario-based clients achieve their growth, acquisition and refinancing objectives. You will work closely with internal partners across credit, cash management, foreign exchange, wealth, insurance and other specialized services to deliver integrated solutions that balance client needs, profitability and risk.   • Manage and grow relationships with important business clients and prospects across Ontario, while supporting the Director on strategic accounts and priorities.

  • Act as a key link between Ontario clients and Desjardins, ensuring clients have the right products, services and support.

  • Identify client needs and develop tailored financing and banking solutions, working with the Director on more complex opportunities.

  • Prepare integrated service offers that balance client satisfaction, profitability and risk management.

  • Negotiate product and service terms within established guidelines, with Director support as needed.

  • Monitor portfolio performance and recommend strategies to support growth, profitability and sound risk management.

  • Identify new business opportunities and help expand Desjardins’ presence in Ontario’s business community.

  • Collaborate with the Director and internal partners to deliver comprehensive solutions for Ontario clients, including lending, cash management, foreign exchange and specialized services.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of five years of experience in commercial banking, corporate banking, business banking or a related financial services environment, with exposure to mid-market or large corporate clients

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience working independently while supporting the Director on strategic accounts, complex transactions and broader portfolio priorities

  • Advanced experience managing client relationships independently, identify client needs and develop practical financing solutions that support growth, acquisitions, refinancing or working capital requirements

  • Advanced experience preparing credit submissions, service offers, internal recommendations or client-facing proposals that clearly present business rationale, financial considerations and key risks

  • Advanced experience in business development, including the ability to identify prospects, deepen existing relationships and support growth across Ontario’s business community

  • Expert knowledge and understanding of senior debt financing, credit analysis, cash flow lending, financial statement analysis, risk assessment and loan structuring

  • Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and collaborate effectively with internal partners

  • Expert understanding of sound judgment, attention to detail, and balancing client objectives with profitability, credit quality, and risk management expectations

  • Knowledge of cash management, foreign exchange, syndicated lending or specialized financial solutions is considered
