Job Description

Associate Director, Mechanical

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineering leader to work alongside the Technical Director. This role is central to leading complex mechanical systems projects, ensuring technical excellence, and driving client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for project delivery, team mentorship, and providing strategic input.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects, from concept to completion.
  • Provide technical leadership, making independent judgments on complex engineering challenges.
  • Mentor and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Review and approve critical project deliverables (calculations, drawings, specs).
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders, ensuring project alignment.
  • Contribute to business development through tenders and proposals.
  • Support strategic initiatives to improve processes and encourage innovation.

Requirements:

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Associate: 10+ years | Associate Director: 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM); PEPC status is preferred.
  • Proven project management and team leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Building Information Modelling (BIM).
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and client management skills.
  • Experience in M&E for infrastructure projects (e.g., metro, railways) is a strong advantage.
