Job Description

Your impact begins here

As Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, you will head the Financial Planning & Analysis team at Novo Canada. You will own the budgeting of ex-factory sales and costs, manage operating profit and guide how resources are allocated, giving the President, CFO and Executive Team the clarity to decide and act. Your work helps the affiliate reach its financial and strategic goals and keeps our products available to the people who rely on them.

What you’ll bring

You combine strong financial expertise with the leadership to build a high-performing team.

You will also bring:

  • A bachelor/master’s degree in business administration, finance, business economics, accounting or auditing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance, with proven success in numbers-driven analysis, planning and reporting.
  • Experience presenting to senior management and executives, and the ability to explain quantitative analysis clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a track record of planning, prioritising and following through while proactively managing risks.
  • A proven track record in complex, cross-affiliate project management.
  • An understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Business Warehouse and Excel.
  • In-depth understanding of the global budgeting process at Novo or a company of similar size.
  • A leadership style that builds trust, gives honest feedback, sets clear priorities and keeps things simple, especially through change.

What you’ll do

You will lead the full financial planning cycle for Novo Canada and the commercial terms that connect our products to customers.

Your work will help to:

  • Lead, develop and plan the work of the Financial Planning & Analysis team, including hiring, succession, individual development plans and performance dialogue, and manage the team budget.
  • Oversee the affiliate P&L, including ex-factory sales, cost of goods sold and total operating costs, and own the total ex-factory sales forecast and targets.
  • Run the annual budget and rolling estimate processes, challenging submissions, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines and anchoring approved targets across the business, while advising the President and CFO on resource allocation and supporting the Executive Team’s cost target.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting to management, the region and headquarters on sales, expenses and operating profit, flagging issues early and proposing corrective actions.
  • Own gross-to-net including rebate accruals under provincial Product Listing Agreements, and weekly sales performance reporting.
  • Lead priority initiatives for Financial Planning & Analysis and contribute to value-creation projects across Executive Team areas, and work with other affiliates to share best practices and keep planning simple and value-adding.

Who you’ll work with

You will join Finance & Operations at Novo Canada as a member of the Finance & Operations Leadership Team. You will lead the Financial Planning & Analysis team, which you will help shape and grow.

Your closest partners will be the President, the CFO and the Executive Team. You will bring a financial perspective to the commercial teams, joining their management meetings, and support Line of Business colleagues with managing investments, month-end closing and training on financial processes.

You will also work with regional finance, headquarters, the Pricing Committee and colleagues in other affiliates, and directly with buyers at key wholesalers. These relationships let you turn numbers into clear, timely decisions.

What you can expect here

  • You will take on a leadership role where your voice shapes decisions at executive level. The role gives you a broad view of the business, from budgets and operating profit to trade strategy, pricing and launches, and the opportunity to build new skills through cross-functional and cross-affiliate work.
  • You will be trusted to own your area and make decisions, with clear performance expectations and a culture that rewards results. You will also help your team thrive and grow through coaching, development plans and ongoing dialogue about performance and development.
