About the Role

A strategic, results-oriented, and collaborative Pension Application Lead to oversee all aspects of application development and maintenance for the Pension business. This role is responsible for managing the Hong Kong team and outsourced vendors to ensure system stability, modernisation progress, and regulatory compliance. The role will demonstrate strong leadership, technical expertise, and stakeholder partnership capabilities to deliver impactful and business-aligned technology solutions.

Role and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage the Hong Kong application team (CS/PT platform) and outsourced development and maintenance teams
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance management to drive high-quality delivery and team effectiveness.

Application Development & Maintenance

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of pension applications, including design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
  • Ensure timely resolution of application/ production issues, incidents and service disruptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and application modernisation initiatives for pension-related systems.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage outsourced vendors, ensuring compliance with SLAs, quality expectations/standards, and delivery timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all pension application-related matters.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritise initiatives, and deliver solutions aligned with business

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure all pension applications comply with regulatory requirements and internal governance policies.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation to support audits and compliance checks.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in application development and maintenance, including at least 5 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven experience managing both in-house and outsourced application teams.
  • Familiarity with pension systems or MPF-related platforms is an advantage.
  • Fluent in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin.
  • Experience with cloud migration and application modernisation initiatives preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure application architecture and related services.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices
