What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Director, Concessions and Partnership Development and Experience, the Associate Director, Concessions and Partnership Business Development is responsible for driving growth through new business development across concessions, strategic partnerships, and advertising.

In this role, you will lead the identification, development, and execution of new commercial opportunities, including Expressions of Interest (EOIs), competitive processes, and partner programs. You will position Toronto Pearson as a premier investment destination, build strong relationships with global brands and partners, and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to maximize the long‑term value of the airport’s commercial assets.

As an Associate Director, Concessions and Partnership Business Development, you will:

  • Lead new business development initiatives across concessions, advertising, and strategic partnerships to grow non‑aeronautical revenue and deliver to sales and revenue growth targets.
  • Identify, assess, and advance new commercial opportunities through market analysis, industry trends, and innovative strategies.
  • Plan and execute EOIs, proposals, and commercial programs, including partner attraction, evaluation, selection, and onboarding.
  • Negotiate complex, multi‑year, multi‑million‑dollar commercial agreements with senior executives and global brands.
  • Oversee and manage key major partnerships and advertising relationships, driving performance and long‑term value.
  • Develop financial models, forecasts, term sheets, and business cases to support decision‑making and deal viability.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal stakeholders across operations, partner experience, marketing, finance, construction to build commercial growth strategies are executable and ensure commercial terms translate to operational delivery by the Operations function.
  • Collaborate with marketing, experience, finance, legal, and operations teams to create compelling commercial and partnership assets.
  • Lead and develop high‑performing teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in concessions, partnerships, advertising, or partner-program development.
  • 7+ years of people leadership experience, managing teams or cross‑functional resources.
  • Post-Secondary diploma or degree in Business Management, Marketing, Advertising and/or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing commercial growth strategies in complex environments.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in modeling, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Proven negotiation and relationship‑management skills with senior‑level partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a customer‑centric environment, balancing commercial performance with experience outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.
