Associate Director Carrier Excellence Academy
is responsible for designing, scaling, and sustaining Carrier’s global Carrier Excellence(Cx) learning ecosystem. This role drives a culture of continuous improvement by developing enterprise-wide training, standards, and
communication mechanisms that enable operational excellence, waste elimination, and performance improvement across Carrier’s global
organization.
This leader acts as a strategic architect and hands‑on practitioner, partnering with regional and functional leaders to build Lean capability,
mentor practitioners, standardize methodologies, and embed Carrier Excellence behaviors into daily operations. The role advises executive
leadership on complex, high‑impact initiatives and represents Carrier externally in academic, professional, and technology forums.
Carrier Excellence Academy & Training:
Drive the development, optimization, and global deployment of Carrier Excellence (Cx) training curricula.
Ensure content quality, consistency, and scalability, including development of a centralized learning platform (e.g., Workday or
equivalent).
Support Cx project blueprints, synchronized with Carrier Excellence Transformation (CxT) and Cx Network priorities.
Build and lead a global community of trainers, enabling consistent delivery of Cx content across regions and functions.
Design and deliver Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Industrial Engineering training aligned to business priorities.
Coaching, Mentoring & Facilitation:
Act as a coach and mentor for Lean Six Sigma Green Belts, Black Belts, and other improvement practitioners.
Support and facilitate cross‑functional Lean / Six Sigma projects and Kaizen events to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
Promote a strong “go to the gemba” culture, reinforcing problem-solving at the point of value creation.
Support regions and functions in overcoming resistance to change through structured change‑management approaches.
Carrier Excellence Standards & Governance:
Develop, implement, and maintain global Cx standards, templates, and tools for use across Carrier.
Establish and manage a single, central Carrier Excellence documentation repository.
Provide ongoing guidance to regions and functions to ensure consistent application of standards while allowing for local flexibility.
Define and deploy Cx CI and visual management standards that reinforce transparency and accountability.
Strategy, Communications & Leadership:
Design and execute the Carrier Excellence Academy strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and long‑term capability building.
Manage Cx communication channels, ensuring timely updates and alignment across regions, functions, and Cx Transformation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience
5+ years of experience in Lean management, process improvement, operations, or industrial engineering.
Proven experience building and scaling training programs or academies across complex organizations.
Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional, multi‑region initiatives.
Certifications
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (preferred).

Technical & Methodological
Lean tools: Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Kanban, A3 problem solving.
Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement, Industrial Engineering, and operational excellence methodologies.
Experience with learning platforms and digital training delivery.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strong executive‑level communication and influencing skills.
Proven ability to lead change, coach others, and build capability at scale.
Excellent facilitation, teaching, and stakeholder management abilities.
