Your new role

As an Associate Director, Cardiometabolic Medical you will play a pivotal role in shaping the medical strategy and driving impactful initiatives in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area across Business Area East (BA East). You will have clear influence over key decisions and outcomes, also by addressing competition to maintain and strengthen our position in the market.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring Medical Affairs strategy and tactics for the cardiometabolic therapeutic area with a focus on Obesity and MASH and align with short- and long-term BA East and corporate strategy.
  • Act as medical resource for the affiliates to provide the strategic medical guidance and fostering strong medical networks.
  • Representing BA East in relevant regional and global, teams, and external activities such as advisory boards and scientific associations.
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration and alignment of Medical Affairs activities with the overall strategic direction.
  • Leading external medical engagements with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other stakeholders to strengthen Novo Nordisk’s presence in the cardiometabolic therapeutic area.
  • Defining and executing on the scientific communication and publication strategy, including input to clinical trials, Real World Evidence (RWE) plans, and patient-centered activities.

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Strong clinical and/or research background in relevant fields with interest in advanced scientific analysis and communication.
  • Minimum 5 year of experience from pharmaceutical industry with substantial medical affairs experience and demonstrated project leadership experience.
  • Experience with working in an international, matrix environment.
  • Experience with engaging in high-level scientific discussions with high profile internal and external audiences.
  • Solid understanding of drug development principles and regulatory framworks for approval of new drugs.
