The Associate Director, Access Reimbursement Management will provide education, assistance, and issue resolution to healthcare providers (HCPs) and their office staff in response to patient access challenges for Supernus in-line products. Outreach may be telephonic as well as in-person. Stakeholders include HCPs and office staff that are writing prescriptions for in-line Supernus products, other healthcare settings utilizing Supernus products, Supernus Sales colleagues (NAMs and RBDs), Patient Support Coordinators, National Account Directors, and Specialty Pharmacies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Equipping HCPs and their staff, through education, to navigate the patient-level payer access requirements and approval process for ZURZUVAETM (Zurzuvae) CIV within a specified geographic region.
  • Demonstrating an advanced understanding of public and private payers and how to research to determine specific coverage barriers and communicate effectively to internal stakeholders and external HCPs regarding education on Medicaid (FFS and Managed Care), commercial plans, PBM designs, policy changes, and formulary status.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy benefit reimbursement practices, compliance, billing and coding processes, and utilization management / prior authorization process.
  • Confidently reference reimbursement and access materials to educate HCPs on access related questions.
  • Ensuring compliance with all Supernus policies and procedures, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implementing and supporting the strategic tactical plan for the execution of product access and reimbursement through partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyzing data and reports to determine potential outreach efforts needed to educate HCPs regarding access related issues with specialty pharmacies and payers.
  • Traveling to HCP sites on a limited basis when in person educational efforts are required Understanding of key stakeholders within an HCP office and how to navigate relationships in a manner that anticipates and adapts to customer reimbursement support needs and any market access challenges.
  • Other responsibilities and projects assigned.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of eight years of experience in field sales, patient support programs, patient case manager, or field reimbursement support.
  • Experience navigating through complex access challenges specific to specialty pharmacy in multiple regions / states preferred.
  • Experience with educating health care providers on product access questions and researching coverage for pharmacy benefit products within commercial and government payers preferred.
  • Advanced understanding of the healthcare environment specifically around delivering services to Health Care Professionals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively payer coverage criteria, payer policy, and prior approval processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office Excel, multiple data report databases (Power BI), and CRMS systems (Veeva) is required.
  • Ability to communicate and manage process expectations effectively across internal and external customer bases.
  • Ability to manage multiple internal cross functional touch points and effectively prioritize the support of field service requests within a large geographical region.
  • Understanding of national and state legislative, Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer and pharmacy coverage initiatives affecting reimbursement of pharmaceutical and biotechnology products.
  • Must be able to work the time zone hours for the assigned geography – equivalent to 8 am-5pm central time.
  • Individuals must live within the geographical region or be willing to relocate to it.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Lifting Requirements: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently constantly to pick up, move and/or carry objects.

  • Visual Acuity: to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen, iPad, or other electronic device and for operating motor vehicles.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately.

Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $170,000 to $198,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual’s salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

The total compensation package for this position also includes other compensation elements such as stock equity awards, employee stock purchase programs and participation in our Company’s discretionary annual bonus program.
