The Derivative Trading Operations team operates the region’s premier derivative markets with expanding global reach. Our team comprises of highly trained individuals with deep knowledge of the working of financial markets as well as rules and regulations that protect the integrity of the market.

We are looking forward to bringing in dedicated individuals to join our Derivatives Trading Operations Team and play a significant role in operating the Hong Kong Derivatives trading platforms covering listed Futures and Options on various underlying assets or indices such as equity indices, equities, currency, interest rate and commodities products. Candidates expects to operate and monitor the derivatives trading system and operations and ensure that the trading environment is transparent, fair, orderly, and efficient according to the relevant rules and regulations established by the exchange. Candidate will also assist in delivering various important initiatives related to the Hong Kong Derivatives Market, hence there are ample opportunities to work with both internal and external stakeholders in the process.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

  • Support critical daily operation throughout T-Session and After-Hours Trading Session of the Derivatives Market to ensure smooth trading operations of the derivatives market by managing operational risks and promptly escalating issues;

  • Ensure the trading activities are in compliance with the relevant regulations, rules and operational procedures;

  • Provide excellent customer service in the context of Exchange Trading operations and maintain rapport relations with the various functions of Exchange Participants;

  • Maintain communication with Exchange Participants and external stakeholders as the command centre for the Derivatives Market;

  • Assist in the innovation and transformation of the team’s workflows by managing the development and implementation of automation solutions using various tools and technologies;

  • Compile various management reports on market performance;

  • Support new business initiatives, new products, system & infrastructure enhancements, market microstructure improvement and other ad-hoc assignments as required. This involves:

    • Reviewing of policies, rules, procedures, and systems

    • Coordinating and executing projects

    • Liaising with statutory bodies, internal departments, and external business counterparties

    • Providing user requirements and conducting User Acceptance Tests (UAT)

    • Conducting research

Requirements:

  • University Degree holder preferably in Finance/ Statistics/ Information Technology or related disciplines;

  • Sound knowledge of the derivatives products, market practices and the trading platform;

  • 4+ years’ relevant experience in finance/ equity trading business. High-calibre candidates with less experience will also be considered;

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills;

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage;

  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, knowledge in Power BI, SQL and VBA an advantage;

  • Shift duties are required, and work experience with shift duties is an added advantage;

  • High agility with growth mindset; a self-starter, team player and good communicator with sound judgment and good problem-solving skills.
