GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
AMaster’s Degreewith a major in Nursing and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered nurse. Med Surgexperiencepreferred
Must hold an unencumbered registered nurse license to practice in Mississippi.
Must satisfy a criminal history background check, drug screen, and other clinical requirements.
Teaching experiencepreferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
Aptitude
1.Maintaincurrent professional credentials and certifications asrequiredin respectivefield
2. Cooperate in the execution of the college, center, division, andprogrampolicies,proceduresand guidelines.
3. Implement teaching strategies that engage learners in active learning.
4.Utilizecutting-edgetechnology in teaching in the classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and clinical setting.
5. Completerequiredprofessional development activities by designated deadlines.
6.Participatein other professional development activities, professional associations, presentations, publications, applied educational research, consulting, evaluations, and similar activities which enhance the individual, the health-related profession, and the education profession
7.Maintainand provide current documentation of all professional requirements (NAH Faculty and Staff Canvas Site: Faculty Professional Requirements).

Attendance
Work a minimum of 35 hours each week (including campus and clinical assignments) during each contracted semester
Part –time or clinical adjunct faculty will work clinical hours according to need
Meet all assigned classes,lab,simulation, and clinical assignments
Arrive on time and stay for assigned length of time for all duty days
Notifyimmediatesupervisor in a timely manner of any unplanned tardiness or absence.
Submit to program chairpersonan accuraterecord ofattendance bydesignated deadlines.
Request scheduled time off prior to an absence unless there is an emergency.
Attend general faculty, center, and program meetings.
Attend required professional development activities.

2. Provide feedback to studentsin a timely manner
3.Maintainconfidentiality of student information.
4.Submitdocumentation required by College or Program by published deadlines.
5. Follow program chain of command to communicateissueor concerns,utilizingCollege Policy, Procedure, and Personnel Manual (refer toMy.Hinds College Manuals).
6. Set aside sufficient time for student conferences, guidance, and tutorialassistance(Minimum of six (6) hours per weekrequired).

1. Present a personal appearance in keeping with established Hinds Community College Dress Code (refer toMy.Hinds College Manuals).
2. Follow program dress code requirements.
3. Follow clinical agency dress code requirements asidentifiedby clinical agency guidelines.
