
IE University invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Faculty and Research in the IE School of Architecture and Design.
Reporting jointly to the Dean of the School of Architecture and Design and the IE University Vice Rector for Faculty and Research, the Associate Dean will provide academic leadership for the School's research strategy and faculty development.
The Associate Dean will work closely with the Dean and the Vice Rector for Faculty and Research to:
The principal measure of success in this role will be the success of the School's faculty: supporting colleagues in building stronger research portfolios, securing competitive funding, and increasing the quality and impact of their scholarly and creative work.
IE School of Architecture and Design is an international, interdisciplinary school joining architecture, design, fashion, and real estate development within a single academic community. Our academic portfolio includes architecture, interior design, product design, strategic design, graphic design, immersive media, fashion design, business for architecture and design, and real estate development.
We regard architecture and design as research disciplines as well as domains of professional practice. Our faculty conduct research through scholarly publications, funded projects, practice-based research, exhibitions, and collaborations with industry, public institutions, and communities. Across these activities, the School focuses on questions of material innovation, social impact through design, sustainable cities, entrepreneurship in creative fields, and authorship and identity.
The successful candidate will be an internationally respected scholar with substantial academic leadership experience and a demonstrated commitment to faculty development.

The School is particularly interested in candidates with a track record of transdisciplinary work in architecture and design. Experience with European research programs, including Horizon Europe, ERC, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, UKRI, or comparable international funding frameworks, is highly desirable.
As an international university with over 100 nationalities present on campus, our working language is English. Knowledge of Spanish is not required.
