GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Associate in Corporate Strategy supports the two key roles of Strategy: guide the go forward strategy of the bank through Strategic Planning and ensure Strategic Planning processes comply with Regulatory requirements.

The Associate plays an active role in working with key Business leaders throughout the bank in developing, evaluating, and building alignment around new strategies to support the bank's overall strategic objectives. The Associate designs and executes research, delivers quantitative analysis and modeling used in the analysis of strategic opportunities, tracks and delivers competitive intelligence to Business partners, and supports business case development. The Associate also supports the development of the bank's Strategic Plan, which is documented and shared with Executives, the Board, and Regulators annually.

The Associate supports Regulatory compliance for Strategic Planning processes by executing, tracking, and reporting on these processes, and working closely with key Business partners in Risk, EPMO, and FP&A.

The Associate is responsible and accountable for managing risk by adhering to the highest standards of confidentiality, openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor, organize and report research and analysis of industry, company, customer, and channel data to support market assessment and identification of key strategic trends.

  • Efficiently execute research tasks, prioritizing and targeting the most value-added activities including leveraging internal and external resources.

  • Employ modeling techniques and complete quantitative analyses and supporting processes of extraction of relevant information, fact and data gathering and documentation. Extract and summarize key insights to produce useful output in context of the overall initiative.

  • Suggest creative, well-thought-out ideas to support issue/problem diagnostics and brainstorming of potential solutions.

  • Create presentation materials containing complex and challenging business issues for management and executives that clearly articulate issues, conclusions and implications.

  • Effectively communicate in a concise manner and actively participate in discussions.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in business-related field required. MBA or Master's degree in related field a plus.

  • Background in management consulting, banking, or Corporate Strategy with 3+ years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Ability to be highly effective in a team-oriented environment and to build relationships based on added value, not title or authority.

  • Demonstrated creative solution development, innovation, integrity, business acumen and sound judgment.

  • Strong problem resolution and analytical skills.

  • Comfort in working with the unknown; every day can be different.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple, complex projects, prioritizing work tasks and managing time effectively.

  • Experience operating in an environment that stresses both individual accountability and team-based performance.

  • A sense of urgency coupled with a proven track record of successfully collaborating with and influencing senior leadership and peers to continually drive for growth and financial results.

  • Interpersonal, negotiation, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills necessary to interact with all organizational levels; very strong attention to detail in written communication.

Associate, Corporate StrategyTotal Base Pay Range 82,100.00 - 172,500.00 USD Annual

The base salary for this position is reflective of the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on factors such as role, relevant skillset, relevant experience, education and geographic location. In addition to the base salary, this role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan, with any such payment based upon company, line of business and/or individual performance.
