Job Description

Under direct supervision, performs general service tasks in food production and cafeteria retail space. Performs a variety of tasks including but not limited to providing exceptional customer service, cooking and preparing food, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace

  • Cooks exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously.
  • Receives verbal instructions as to food required by customers, and prepare and cook food according to those instructions.
  • Operates large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers, slicers, and/or griddles.
  • Provides exceptional customer service.
  • Maintains friendly attitude towards customers, co-workers, and clients.
  • Espouses Connecticut Children’s core values & behaviors – teamwork, integrity, respect & discovery.
  • Assists chef supervisors in meal production by following daily production schedule.
  • Prepares food according to specific recipes and instructions.
  • Willingness to work as a team player when preparing dishes and coordinating meal service.
  • Sets up assigned station in work area including but not limited to grill, deli, or hotline.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with department and local regulatory procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Stocks and replenishes merchandise and paper goods.
  • Receives and examines foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards.
  • Adheres to all established systems and training programs to provide a safe environment.
  • Complies with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • Assists with catering special events (prepares and serves food, brews coffee, prepares snacks and paper goods, prepares facilities, maintains safe and clean serving area).
  • Maintains all records and reports necessary to comply with local regulatory food safety standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • 1 Years of Food Production Experience Required.

Education and/or Experience Preferred:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent Preferred.
  • 3 Years of Food Production Experience Preferred.
  • 3 Years of Customer Service Experience Preferred.
