Your new role
As Associate Commercial Portfolio Strategy Director, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and executing the commercial strategies that maximize our portfolio potential across therapy areas. This is a strategic position where analytical rigor meets commercial acumen, and where your insights will directly influence how we prioritize, position, and maximise patient reach for innovative treatments.
Your responsibilities will include:
Creating and maintaining a systematic framework for commercial portfolio management for International Operations
Developing data-driven commercial portfolio strategies that optimize market potential across multiple therapy areas
Orchestrating a proactive mid-term view to provide proactive recommendations for value maximization and optimal resource deployment
Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access & Pricing, and others, and Global & Regional Commercial teams to ensure portfolio strategies are aligned and integrated
Collaborating with team members to ensure the operationalization of the strategy by ensuring integration into processes and workstreams
Analyzing portfolio performance metrics and identifying improvement opportunities for both strategies and processes

Around 430 million people are living with diabetes in these countries and an estimated 570 million live with obesity. We serve over 25 million people each day living with chronic diseases. Novo Nordisk International Operations, Strategic Operations, is head quartered in Zürich, Switzerland.
You will be part of the Commercial Portfolio and Launch Management team, a strategic and dynamic function within International Operations’ Marketing, Medical and Regulatory department. It’s responsible for launch excellence, future asset integration, cross-portfolio strategy, and message testing.
You will report to the Head of Commercial Portfolio and Launch Management.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for a commercially savvy strategist with an entrepreneurial mindset who can turn bold ideas into executable plans. To succeed in this role, you must have:
10+ years of commercial experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry across multiple functions such as marketing, sales, and market access (combined experience highly valued)
Both affiliate and regional/above-country experience – you understand local market realities and can think strategically at a regional or global level
Strategic perspective with execution excellence – you can develop high-level strategies and make them actionable and executable on the ground
Strong complex problem-solving skills – you can connect the dots and formulate solutions, often with out-of-the-box approaches
High emotional intelligence and exceptional stakeholder management skills to navigate complex, cross-functional environments and influence effectively at all levels
Strong analytical and data-driven approach – you excel at translating complex data into clear strategic insights and recommendations
Entrepreneurial mindset and strong “business hunger” – you proactively identify opportunities, take initiative, and drive results with a sense of ownership
Bachelor's degree (master´s preferred) in Business/Engineering or similar
Nice to have:
Portfolio management experience, ideally across multiple therapy areas
End-to-end involvement in a product launch process within an affiliate setting
Hands-on experience with brand positioning and forecasting methodologies
