Location: Karachi, Pakistan

Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is a Department dedicated to developing a center of excellence for high-quality and high-impact clinical trials both nationally & internationally. The Department promotes AKU’s vision by providing leadership, consultation, and facilitation in different phases of clinical trials in compliance with the International Standards and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

  • manage the financial activities of CTU trials, including preparation and submission of sponsor and internal invoices, review of monthly ledgers, financial adjustments and coordination with Finance to ensure timely completion of study-related financial activities
  • assist the Manager and Study Coordinator in preparing budgets for new research trials and provide financial information and support as required
  • manage and coordinate new research projects through the PURE application from initiation to close-out, ensuring timely completion and maintenance of all relevant project-related activities and records
  • provide administrative and logistical support to the department, including office inventory management and coordination of support services for study participants and patient care processes
  • maintain accurate departmental records, statistics and project documentation, ensuring timely storage, retrieval and availability of information
  • prepare and submit internal invoices to Finance for services provided in accordance with applicable MOUs and institutional requirements
  • raise capital and non-capital PRs, monitor the status of procurement requests and coordinate follow-up to ensure timely procurement and receipt of required items
  • manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively, work under pressure and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are completed accurately and within required timelines.

Requirements:

You should have:

  • a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s in Business Administration or an equivalent relevant qualification
  • at least four years of relevant experience, preferably in administration, finance or research operations
  • sound financial, statistical and analytical skills with strong technical and administrative competencies
  • proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a pleasant and professional personality
  • ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, manage multiple priorities in a challenging and fast-paced environment, and establish effective and harmonious working relationships within a team.
