The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.

Job Summary

As an Associate Buyer, you’ll help turn material needs into dependable supplier commitments. You’ll work with suppliers and teammates across planning, manufacturing, engineering, and quality to track orders, resolve issues, and flag risks before they affect production. It’s a role for someone who enjoys the details, communicates clearly, and takes pride in following through.

What You Will Do

• Manage defective goods inventory, and facilitate the transfer of goods from inventory back to the vendor for repair, replacement, or credit.
• Generate and execute RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) purchase orders, requests for RMAs, and other necessary documents related to the return to vendor of defective goods.
• Maintain current accurate records and files of discrepancies and related return to vendor records.
• Establish and maintain sound professional relationships with vendors. Resolve issues associated with returns of defective goods.
• Compile, review, and analyze data.
• Communicate with Supplier Quality Engineers, Buyers, and Program Managers vendor performance and part issues.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to manage own time effectively, produce work of the highest quality, and meet deadlines consistently.
• Must be flexible and willing to move between projects and tasks quickly as needed
• An interest in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing—and a willingness to learn.
