To support the Internal Audit Services (IAS) division by operationalizing data analytics to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit processes. By leveraging predictive analytics and advanced analytical tools, Audit Analytics provides reporting, automation, data validation and visualization as well as maintenance within our Audit Software to support the Audit Universe. Audit Services Analytics plays a critical role interfacing with subject matter experts to understand processes and help detect anomalies, drive reporting, automation, and data analysis providing valuable insights to ensure robust financial and operational controls within the organization.
This position deals with all aspects of Audit execution from planning to reporting.
Key components of this role are analysis, documentation, data flows, visualization, interpreting and presenting data; and working with auditors as well as stakeholders to understand processes, audit objectives, risks, and controls in various business areas.
Responsibilities
30% Design and execute data-driven audit tests, statistical analysis and data mining to identify anomalies, patterns, and potential control weaknesses with preditive analytics applications and identify trends, correlations, and predictive patterns that contribute to risk assessment and audit planning.
30% With minimal guidance, write, document and deploy custom code in a variety of environments.Provide training and technical support to users on how to effectively utilize the audit software with the collaboration of auditors and management.Provide support to IAS through software administration including user access maintenance.
20% Effectively communicate analysis output using the collected, organized, analyzed, and interpreted data after accuracy and efficiency is determined.
20% Provide support to IAS regarding service-level data requirements such as availability, volume, security, PII, privacy as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to audit software.
Supervision
Indirect Reports:
Interacts with IAS division leadership as well as acting Auditor-In-Charges on audit engagements to provide software support, data analytics tools and interpretation of data including visualization as necessary.
Interacts with business data and report owners, system designers, architects, database administrators, and IT professionals to source data required to conduct audit analyses of financial statements, internal controls, and operational processes to identify potential risks, fraud and inefficiencies.
External and Vendor Relationships: ACL and AuditBoard vendor relationships for technical concerns as well as enhancements.

- Credit Union or other financial institution experience
- Business intelligence and data analytics experience
- Four-year degree, or CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP)
- Educational background in computer science, business, or mathematics is preferred, but deference will be given to requisite practical experience and interest in programming and statistical analysis in lieu of formal educational background
