About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established law firm in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is seeking a motivated and experienced Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its growing legal team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about workers' compensation law and enjoys working in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish and possess strong litigation, negotiation, and case management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of workers' compensation matters from inception through resolution.
- Represent employers, insurance carriers, and other clients in workers' compensation proceedings.
- Prepare and argue motions, attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and other legal proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Provide legal analysis and strategic guidance to clients.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and administrative agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and court deadlines.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- 2+ years of workers' compensation experience preferred.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English required.
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Experience handling hearings, depositions, and mediations preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Florida Workers' Compensation statutes and procedures.
- Strong negotiation and settlement experience.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
