Associate Attorney – General Liability & Product Liability

Position Overview

A nationally recognized litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability and Product Liability practice in its Los Angeles or Irvine office.

This opportunity is ideal for a California-licensed attorney with at least 3 years of defense litigation experience who is comfortable independently managing cases, taking depositions, handling discovery and motion practice, and supporting matters through trial.

The attorney will work on sophisticated matters for both regional and national clients throughout California and will have the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage a defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Represent regional and national clients throughout California
• Handle general liability and product liability matters
• Conduct plaintiff, fact witness, and expert depositions
• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial
• Draft and respond to written discovery
• Review and analyze complex discovery requests and case materials
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
• Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other proceedings as appropriate
• Assist with all aspects of trial preparation and trial support
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and internal case teams
• Maintain accurate and timely billing and case records

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active license and good standing with the State Bar of California
• Minimum 3 years of litigation experience
• Defense experience in General Liability and/or Product Liability
• Demonstrated experience with depositions and motion practice
• Experience taking the lead in plaintiff and expert depositions
• Ability to independently manage cases and deadlines
• Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Ability to effectively manage multiple matters simultaneously

Base Salary: $130,000
