Associate Attorney – Collections
Department: Legal

Focus on the Courtroom, Not the Grind.
The Collections Attorney is responsible for managing account liquidations and partnering with the firm's collections department. This role involves handling civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, including internal firm lawsuits and client-related legal disputes. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality legal representation while treating all customers with fairness, respect, and professionalism.

Case Management: Manage a high-volume caseload of civil litigation and collection actions, including demand letters and enforcement of judgments.

Litigation & Advocacy: Represent clients and the firm in various legal proceedings, including attending hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.

Legal Drafting: Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence.

Negotiation: Negotiate with opposing counsel and debtors to achieve final case resolutions and create fair payment solutions.

Risk Analysis: Provide expert analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks to internal stakeholders and clients.

Travel: Travel to various courts within the state as needed for legal representation.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records and case files using case management software (e.g., Clio).
Qualifications and Skills

Licensure: Must have an ACTIVE Texas law license in good standing.

Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with a focus on collections or creditor’s rights.

Core Competencies: Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.

Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Westlaw, and case management software such as Clio.

Preferred Experience
- Background in post-judgment collection, asset recovery, and contract enforcement.
- Experience in business disputes or professional liability.
- Interest in mediation and conducting initial consults.
