HITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Associate Assembler who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Batesburg, SC.
The Associate Assembler is responsible for preparing and assembling products and components within the production area, following specific instructions while conforming to the highest quality and standards.
Accountabilities:
• Prepare and gather parts, tools, and equipment for the assembly process
• Ensure tools and equipment are in good working order
• Assemble products and components, following blueprints, schematics, or work instructions
• Utilize pallet jacks, hand tools, power tools, and potentially machinery to complete assembling tasks
• Inspect assembled products for accuracy, completeness, and compliance, to include HSE safety critical requirements and great attention to detail
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Collaborate with other assemblers and team members to meet production goals
• Identify and report any issues or malfunctions
• Maintain accurate documentation and logs and enter data into relevant systems
• Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records
• Adhere to safety and quality guidelines and company policies
Must have the ability to:
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
• Understand measurements and follow instructions
• Manipulate small parts and tools with precision
• Work in an environment that requires physical and continual movement
• Learn new processes, procedures, and technologies
• Lift or lower items weighing < 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts < 42lbs (19kg)
Required skills & experience:
• 0-3 years of Assembler or similar experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Desired skills & experience:
• Previous assembling experience within a manufacturing environment
• Basic soldering experience
• Knowledge of electrical terminations
• Experience with small hand tools
• Knowledge of Hitachi Rail products
• Experience with SAP Enterprise Software
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Language:
English proficiency
