Ares isseekingahighlymotivatedand entrepreneurial communications professional to join the Corporate Communications& Marketingteam as anAssociateinHong Kong This person willbe responsible forsupporting the external communications function, including the promotion and protection of the Ares brandacrossAPAC Astrongtrack recordofeffective media relationsandworking withsenior stakeholders arecriticalfor success inthis role.
Primary Functions & Essential Responsibilities
Support media engagement, issuesmanagement,anddrafting written communications:
Manageinbound media requestsandcoordinatewith internal stakeholders toprovidetimelyresponses
Proactively develop storylines,pitch to relevant mediain line withleadershipteampriorities,andarrangemedia interviews and background meetings
Identifyand secureexternal speaking engagementsand high-profile media opportunities
Build and strengthen Ares’ network of media relationshipsacross keypublicationsinAPAC, andmaintainajournalistcontactdatabase
Draft communications (press releases, media talking points, Q&As,communications plans,briefing documents,etc.) andmanageinternal and external review processes
Manage,organizeand prioritizemultipletaskstomeetbusiness-criticaldeadlines
Supportmedia engagement trackingand reporting,conduct competitor analyses,andassistwithpress release distributionand industry awards submissions, as needed
Deliverfresh ideas,solicitfeedback, buildconsensusand driveresults
Serveas a trusted advisor and strategic counselor to Ares’leadershipteams
Supportportfolio companies on communications matters, as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 3 years of corporate communications experience, either in-house or at a strategic communications firm
Understanding ofand experience in the asset management and/or broader financial services industry
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to edit/proof content and contextin both English andChinese
Experience tracking and measuring results to ensure they are in line with intended outcomes
Good interpersonal and networking skills and the ability towork with cross-functional, multiculturalteamsand agency partners
Self-motivated team player with the ability to executeunderlimited oversightandtightdeadlines
