The role combines hands-on laboratory work, advanced analytical techniques, and cross-functional collaboration to generate valuable scientific insights across multiple business areas. You will work within a global network of scientists and engineers, supporting projects related to biofuels, sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogen, biogas, and emerging energy solutions. Accountabilities:
- Conduct analytical testing and experimental activities while ensuring compliance with laboratory safety standards and best practices.
- Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods to support research, product development, and innovation initiatives across various energy and low-carbon technology areas.
- Take ownership of analytical techniques and provide technical expertise to support high-quality scientific outcomes.
- Interpret analytical data and generate meaningful insights to support decision-making and technology advancement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to analytical methodologies, laboratory processes, and data quality.
- Collaborate closely with scientists, engineers, and stakeholders across multiple disciplines to address business and research needs.
- Support the development and implementation of analytical strategies aligned with broader scientific and technological objectives.
- Contribute to building technical capability and knowledge sharing within the analytical community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Material Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on experience with analytical characterization techniques used for catalyst, product, or material analysis.
- Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation and methodologies, including techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), microscopy, spectroscopy, gas chromatography (GC), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
- Experience analyzing and interpreting experimental data related to solid, liquid, or gas-phase materials and mixtures is highly desirable.
- Understanding of laboratory operations, instrument calibration, experimental design, and quality assurance practices.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with attention to scientific rigor and data accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary, and international environments.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, innovation, and scientific excellence.
- Flexibility to support occasional travel requirements (up to 10%).
