About the opportunity
The University of Sydney is welcoming applications for a motivated Associate Analyst (Investment Operations) to join the Investment and Capital Management (ICM) team.
This is an exciting opportunity to support the day to day operational management of the University’s diverse investment portfolio. The role assists with cash funding, reconciliations, and reporting, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of investment data and operational workflows.
The Associate Analyst (Investment Operations) role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers, including custodian BNP Paribas, to support efficient operational processes and assist in the timely resolution of routine matters. The role also contributes to the maintenance of accurate investment records and supports reporting, compliance, governance, and audit requirements.
This role also supports a hybrid working arrangement with the expectation of being onsite 3 days per week.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
assist with cash and transaction management activities, including the preparation of cash instructions relating to subscriptions, redemptions, capital calls and other investment transactions.
support the oversight and monitoring of investment settlements activities across the portfolio and resolving routine settlement issues.
maintain accurate records relating to portfolio, investment holdings, transactions and cash movements.
act as a first point of contact for routine operational queries from internal stakeholders and custodians
maintain operational records, including portfolio maintenance, new account onboarding and associated administrative tasks
maintain operational records, including portfolio updates, new account setups, and related administrative tasks
ensure records are maintained in line with procedures and audit requirements
assist in the preparation of Investment Committee (IC) Papers, reporting and supporting materials.
About you
bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, accounting or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
demonstrated critical thinking and decision making
demonstrated experience working in a large corporate, financial services or public sector environment
strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
excellent attention to detail coupled with analytical and problem solving
demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
strong computer literacy skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft excel.
