About the department

You will be joining our Finance Global Business Services (GBS) team in Bangalore. Established in 2007, Finance GBS is responsible for supporting various finance functions for Novo Nordisk globally. Commercial Analytics, which is part of Finance GBS, was founded in 2013 with the goal of providing best-in-class analytical services and insights to the global organization. Our team is dedicated to delivering superior service to our stakeholders and adding value through standardization and efficiency.

The position

As an Associate Analyst at Novo Nordisk, you will also be entrusted with below responsibilities:

  • Manage accounting processes related to Record to Report, including local journal entries, month-end close, and consolidation to external reporting.
  • Handle general accounting tasks such as posting incoming and outgoing payments, cash application, GL postings, invoicing, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Act as a sparring partner for the existing team, raising the knowledge level about accounting processes and providing high-quality support to affiliates in the Emerging Markets Region.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls over financial reporting, such as Sarbanes Oxley and the Minimum Controls framework.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and manage relationships effectively.
    Perform controllership tasks, including trail balance review, financial statement accuracy, and participation in local and statutory audits.
  • Monitor month-end close activities and provide detailed analysis on KPIs to Finance & Operations.
    Handle general ledger postings, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and ensure accurate accounting flows.
  • Execute month-end activities such as inventory reporting, depreciation posting, currency revaluation, and trial balance reporting.

Qualifications:

  • CA Inter, Bachelors or Master’s in finance or accounting from a recognised institute.
  • 6-12 years of experience within an accounting/economy function from a larger organisation.
  • Experience working with SAP ERP system both FI/CO and SD
  • Experience working and bank systems incl. international bank transfers and reconciliations
  • Experience working with accounts receivables tasks incl. intercompany transactions and reconciliations
    System interfaces to ERP are preferred
  • Candidates with experience working with general ledger accounting in a global company
