Associate Accounting-(260000DB)
The Associate Accounting is responsible for maintaining required financial controls and serve as advisor regarding procedures, practices, record keeping and reporting requirements of all finance and accounting activities. The Associate Accounting is under the general supervision of the Manager, General Ledger. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare daily bank deposits for multiple bank accounts and code and enter deposits into the accounting system, along
- with the appropriate coding and supporting documentation
- Prepare monthly journal entries accurately for daily/month end close within the prescribed deadlines
- Review and manipulate large data sets into format for uploading into ERP system, while still maintaining data integrity
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts; Maintain the support of outstanding balances, analyze the data and make the appropriate journal entries where needed
- Assist with the collection of summer and evening school payments; Receive, deposit and reconcile both cash & credit card payments/refunds for summer and evening school registration
- Reconcile cash & online credit card payments/refunds to various sub-systems and to ERP system; Issue properly approved credit card refunds and ensure refunds are recorded in all appropriate systems
- Apply and adjust payments to Accounts Receivable Module and run. Generate and send out monthly statements to customers
- Review general ledger for possible PEIMS coding errors and be familiar with the TEA FASRG coding structure
- Assist in updating projection of actual results

- Other Two years of college courses with business/accounting classes preferred
- Minimum of 4 years progressive experience in bookkeeping/accounting role
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to independently research, assess and validate data
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work in a proactive manner
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred
