Assistive Technology Assistant - SPEDProvides hearing screening and additional audiometric assessments to District students; Responsible for establishment and maintenance of all student hearing records. Coordinates student hearing data and information services-related activities (Infinite Campus) Responsible for providing technical assistance and training support to stakeholders (general education & additional providers) and students with hearing loss and auditory processing challenges . Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. Assists audiologists with technical needs, equipment calibration and special projects. --- Manage hearing assistive technology equipment and diagnostic biomedical devices, including maintenance, delivery, and set-up at various sites within the District; troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment problems. Help perform annual equipment calibration working with audiologists and outside vendors to assure all equipment is in compliance with state regulations.
--- Provide clerical support including planning, scheduling and coordinating daily and/or long range specialized testing, training materials and maintaining an extensive equipment inventory.
--- Collaborate, consult with and train appropriate stakeholders regarding the use of hearing assistive technology and diagnostic biomedical devices.
--- Process and maintain student hearing records and audiology management data within school computer systems; perform queries, respond to requests for student hearing data and screening requests from internal and external customers.
--- Perform hearing screenings and additional audiometric tests in compliance with policies and guidelines under the supervision of an audiologist.
--- Perform other related duties including special projects requiring research and gathering of information as assigned or requested.
--- Communicate with stakeholders (ie. parents and other school and medical personnel); provide training as needed. Respect confidentiality regarding students needs and abilities.
--- Maintain knowledge of various current and/or new assistive technologies and connectivity with student personal amplification systems.
