Job Description

Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Care Retirement Community, is currently accepting applications for the position of Assisted Living - Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work in our Health Center on a full-time basis. As a part of the Nursing Team, this individual will provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with nursing care procedures and as directed by their supervisor in a manner that preserves residents’ dignity, honors their rights, provides good customer service, communicates appropriately and adheres to federal and state compliance regulations. As part of the Westminster Family, this position is a vital part of our Nursing Team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Certified Nursing Assistant must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities including:

  1. Assist patients/residents with Activities of Daily Living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transferring, ambulating, toileting, and other resident needs.
  2. Ensure that beds are made; trash has been removed, meals are served to the residents and a high level of hygiene is maintained in the room.
  3. Taking vital signs and reporting observations and any change in condition to the nurse.
  4. Practice infection prevention and control measures in compliance with Federal, State and facility requirements.
  5. Document in CNA ECS flow-sheet promptly, accurately and completely.
  6. Make routine and frequent rounds to ensure those safety precautions/equipment are in place and in working order.
  7. Avoid development of skin problems or skin breakdown by providing timely incontinent care and frequent repositioning of residents that need assistance.
  8. Assist the Activities Dept with Activities for the residents.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with the laws of Florida. Must be CPR Certified. Medical Technician Certification preferred. ALL APPLICANT'S PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR CURRENT PROFESSIONAL FL CNA LICENSE, CPR CERTIFICATION (American Heart Association or American Red Cross only) AND YOUR MED TECH CERTIFICATION WITHIN YOUR APPLICATION TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESS.

Experience and Basic Knowledge: Working with older adults in a healthcare setting is desirable, preferably a minimum of 6 months.

Physical and Environmental Requirements. The physical activities of this position involve: Balancing, Kneeling, Reaching, Crouching, Pulling, Standing, Manual Dexterity, Pushing, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting up to 40 lbs.

Sensory and communicative activities with or without prosthetics of this position are: Feeling, Seeing, Smelling, Hearing, Speaking

An individual in this position will be exposed to: Inside/outside environmental conditions, Bloodborne pathogens, Respiratory pathogens

Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
