As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent a wide range of faith traditions and worldviews, the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at Marian University, Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-WCOM) is seeking applicants for a 12-month tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacology. The successful candidate will join our collaborative academic community to contribute to the education of medical students and our Master of Biomedical Science Students, while supporting our Catholic Franciscan mission through a commitment to service and the holistic development of future physicians. Our curriculum emphasizes an integrated understanding of basic and clinical sciences to prepare students for practical, compassionate patient care.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a team of dedicated faculty to design and deliver pharmacology content as part of a comprehensive, systems-based medical curriculum. Faculty at MU-WCOM play a pivotal role in facilitating an in-depth comprehension of the human body's normal processes, as well as the integration and regulation of these processes in both health and disease. This role will primarily involve instructing students in concepts related to the pharmacology of human health and the mechanisms underlying the development of various disease states. While the position encompasses a broad range of pharmacology topics, a background in neuropharmacology is of particular interest to enhance the depth and breadth of our curriculum. Opportunities also exist for teaching within your area of specific expertise within pharmacology or related disciplines. If you are passionate about education, pharmacology, and positively impacting the next generation of medical professionals, we encourage you to apply and be part of our academic community built on the inspired vision and values of our Franciscan heritage.
MU-WCOM, established as Indiana's second medical college in 2013, places a strong emphasis on holistic patient care, addressing the mind, body, and spirit to uncover the root causes of illnesses and optimize health. MU-WCOM is housed in the state-of-the-art Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences, which features The Browning Anatomy Lab equipped with 36 cadaveric dissection stations, each with computer terminals. Additionally, we have The Hill Rom Simulation Center, offering students realistic, hands-on training in a safe and controlled environment. Our faculty and students benefit from access to nationally recognized hospitals, research facilities, community outreach clinics, and other medical organizations.
