The position may include travel and service provision in a regional community clinic where the majority of families speak Spanish

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is renowned for its clinical training programs in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, as well as its active doctoral program. Our department includes 30 faculty members, 104 graduate students in three degree programs (MS, AuD, PhD), and 208 undergraduate students.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based assessment and treatment to patients with communication and feeding disorders.
• Provide clinical services at the University clinic and a regional health center where the majority of the patients/families speak Spanish
• Supervise student clinicians
• Work with teaching faculty to reinforce concepts learned in the classroom
• Assist leadership with clinical administration and program development, as assigned
• Teach in the classroom related to area/s of expertise, as assigned
• Other duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications, corresponding to rank:

• Master’s or doctoral degree Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, or equivalent
• Three years of clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist working with pediatric patients
• License/license-eligibility for practice in Speech-Language Pathology in the state of Arizona
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
• Experience with the pediatric populations
• Experience providing services in Spanish
• Experience providing services to a variety of demographic populations

Preferred Qualifications

• More than five years of clinical experience
• Experience with program development
• Experience with a specialty area such as AAC, feeding, aural (re)habilitation, literacy, velopharyngeal incompetence, or motor speech disorders
• Experience with children birth to age 18
• Experience with supervision
• Advanced spoken/written Spanish language skills
• Experience leading collaborative teams
