Job Description

The College of Business at Stony Brook University is seeking to fill full-time tenure-track faculty positions in Organizational Behavior and in Strategic Management to join the Organizational Behavior, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship group. We intend to hire at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level and invite applications from candidates nearing completion of their Ph.D. as well as current Assistant Professors and Associate Professors. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2027.

The position offers a competitive teaching load, competitive research support, and a salary commensurate with qualifications, rank, academic record, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in management. The position requires in-person teaching at the Stony Brook University campus
  • Conduct and publish high-impact management-related research in leading peer-reviewed journals
  • Provide service to the College and University through activities such as committee participation, support for accreditation efforts (e.g., AACSB), student mentorship, and engagement with community and industry
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, creativity, and mentorship to create an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds and cultures can meet their full potential, thrive and help fulfill the role of the College of Business in SBU’s mission

Qualifications

Required:

  • PhD in Organizational Behavior, Strategy, Entrepreneurship, or a related discipline, from an accredited institution completed prior to the start date
  • Must have demonstrated, or show high potential for, excellence in research that will have a strong impact on the field of management (either Organizational Behavior or Strategy/Entrepreneurship)

Preferred:

  • Must have demonstrated, or show high potential for, excellence in teaching in Organizational Behavior, Strategy, or Entrepreneurship
  • Research area and approach that complements existing faculty interests and methods
