The College of Business, Engineering, and Technology (CBET) at Texas A&M University-Texarkana (TAMUT) is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Engineering Management, pending external approval. This inaugural faculty member will play a pivotal role in establishing and growing the new Master of Science in Engineering Management program and will serve as the program coordinator, with the position set to begin in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027, pending external approvals.
The successful candidate will address student needs in engineering management, including academic advising and reviewing admission applications, and assist the Engineering Division Chair and the CBET Dean with implementing the short and long-term goals of the division and college. Key responsibilities as the program coordinator include overseeing curriculum development and shaping program policies. Excellent communication skills, a Ph.D. in Engineering Management or a related field, and a strong commitment to teaching, research, and student success are required.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Engineering Management education at TAMUT. The ideal candidate will demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and research, experience in curriculum development, and the ability to work collaboratively within the Engineering Department. Experience in program coordination and securing external funding is highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach graduate engineering management courses as well as selected interdisciplinary engineering courses.
Conduct course assessments to evaluate and improve student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
Advise students on academic and career matters and review admission applications for the program.
Engage in professional and scholarly activities, including research, publication, and participation in professional organizations.
Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
Participate in outreach activities to promote the engineering management program and engage with the community.
Actively participate in student recruitment efforts to attract and retain talented students in the engineering management program.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum Qualifications
Assistant Professor Rank
A Ph.D. in Engineering Management or a related field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering).
Evidence of a strong record of active and impactful research appropriate to the rank.
Associate Professor Rank
A Ph.D. in Engineering Management or a related field (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering).
Evidence of a strong record of active and impactful research appropriate to the rank.
At least five (5) years of service at the rank of Assistant Professor at an accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of proven leadership and management experience in academic or industry settings.
Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Ability to teach across the curriculum, in one or more sub-disciplines such as project management, operations management, systems engineering, energy management, manufacturing, machine learning, production engineering, sustainability engineering, and leadership in engineering
Prior experience in program coordination or academic leadership roles.
Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies
Demonstrated ability to engage in outreach activities to promote the engineering management program.
Proven experience in grant writing and securing research funding.
Other Requirements
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from all backgrounds.
