
Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, Department of Comprehensive Care is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in Dentistry. This is a non-tenure- track position, and the majority of the time will be spent on teaching, service and professional developments.
The annual starting base salary range for this position at the rank of assistant/associate professor is from [$84,000 - $112,000]. The applicant will be responsible for the comprehensive instruction, supervision, and management of a clinical practice group consisting of third- and fourth‑year DMD students. Core responsibilities include overseeing students in the clinical environment to ensure the provision of safe, effective, and patient‑centered care. The applicant will deliver ongoing formative feedback through performance evaluations and assessments, supporting students in the development of clinical competence, critical thinking, and professional judgment.
A key component of this role involves monitoring students’ patient rosters, including oversight of case management and guidance in treatment planning, time management, and patient communication. Through these activities, the applicant will contribute to the formation of competent, ethical, and reflective practitioners.
The applicant will also participate in preclinical teaching within the SIM Clinic, supporting prosthodontic and restorative coursework for second‑year dental students. Responsibilities include providing didactic instruction as well as mannequin‑based training to prepare students for clinical care.
In addition to teaching duties, the applicant is expected to engage in service activities, including participation on school‑level committees.
a) Must have a DDS/DMD or equivalent degree and eligibility for licensure in Ohio.
b) A minimum of two years of experience in dentistry and/or evidence of advanced education and training is required.
c) Clinical experience with restorative aspects of digital dentistry (intraoral scanners, digital design, milling machines, etc.).
d) Experience in the use of electronic health record systems, preferably axiUm.
