The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the
University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria seeks an academic
psychiatrist with interest and enthusiasm for teaching residents and medical
students. This full-time faculty position is at the rank of Assistant or
Associate Professor. Candidates should share our commitment to high-quality
patient care, scholarship, education, and community service.
Responsibilities include leading an interdisciplinary
general psychiatry adult inpatient teaching unit composed of residents, medical
students, nursing, social work, and support staff. The faculty member will also supervise
psychiatry residents in outpatient pharmacology clinics built around education
and patient care. Other duties will be tailored to the interests of the
applicant and include opportunities in TMS, community outreach, college student
mental health, psychiatry integration in primary care clinics, and forensic
psychiatry.
Educational responsibilities include clinical and classroom
teaching of residents and medical students. Faculty members are granted
protected time to pursue their interests including clinical or educational
program development and research. The department values and supports the
