The College of Education and Human Development invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Mathematics/STEM Education to begin Fall 2027. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate educator preparation through high-quality teaching, active research and scholarly agenda in mathematics education, and service to the department, college, university, and profession. Responsibilities include teaching courses in mathematics education and related areas, mentoring students, contributing to program development, and establishing a productive research agenda that includes scholarly publications, presentations, and pursuit of external funding, as appropriate. Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to effective mathematics teaching and learning, collaboration with educational partners, and the university’s teaching, research, and service missions.
The department of Curriculum Instruction and Learning Sciences (CILS) offers the following top-rated academic programs: bachelor of science in early childhood education (EC-3), elementary education (with specializations in bilingual, elementary generalist, and mathematics 4-8), and special education; post baccalaureate alternative certification; master’s in curriculum and instruction, elementary education, instructional design and educational technology, reading, secondary education, and special education; and a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction (with specializations in literacy studies, curriculum studies, instructional design and educational technology, kinesiology, and special education).
