Introduction
The College of Medicine at the Prince Mohammed University is committed to delivering the highest quality medical education across the country. The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to the learning and teaching, research, governance and service agenda of the College.
General Description
The successful candidate will teach Community Medicine, including epidemiology, public health, preventive medicine, environmental health, and healthcare systems. The faculty member will facilitate classroom and field-based learning, supervise student projects, contribute to community outreach initiatives, conduct research, and support accreditation and continuous quality improvement activities. He will also teach courses related to the medical profession, including professionalism, ethics, communication skills, patient-centered care, healthcare systems, interprofessional collaboration, and lifelong learning. The role involves mentoring students, facilitating case-based and experiential learning, assessing professional competencies, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in academic and institutional service.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
Minimum Required Education / Experience:
1.MD (Doctor of Medicine) with specialization/residency in Community Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Public Health, or Family Medicine, or a PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Community Medicine, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
2.An MPH (Master of Public Health) or equivalent postgraduate qualification is highly desirable for candidates whose primary degree is in medicine.
3.A demonstrated record of teaching undergraduate medical students using student-centered approaches such as problem-based learning (PBL), team-based learning (TBL), case-based learning, and community-based education.
4.Experience teaching subjects including community medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, preventive medicine, environmental health, healthcare systems, professionalism, medical ethics, communication skills, patient-centered care, and interprofessional education.
5.Evidence of scholarly research through publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and the ability to develop and sustain an active research program.
6.Experience supervising student research projects, capstone projects, and community-based activities.
7.Familiarity with medical education accreditation standards (e.g., NCAAA, WFME, LCME, or equivalent) and continuous quality improvement processes.
8.Excellent interpersonal, communication, mentoring, and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary academic and healthcare environments.
9.Professional licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice medicine in Saudi Arabia is desirable for medically qualified applicants.
10.Previous academic experience in a medical school and involvement in curriculum design, assessment, community engagement, and academic administration will be considered an advantage.
Minimum 3–5 years of university-level teaching experience in a medical school.
Experience in community health programs, public health initiatives, or healthcare system improvement projects.
Demonstrated success in curriculum development, course coordination, and assessment design.
Experience securing research funding and collaborating with healthcare institutions and community organizations.
Familiarity with digital learning technologies, simulation-based education, and learning management systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
General
·Prepare for, attend, and participate in monthly faculty meetings.
·Work on projects within at least one working group such as OSCE case development; communication skills; write-up, oral case presentation and clinical reasoning; professionalism and ethics; mentoring; feedback and evaluation.
·Participate in and facilitate academy faculty development sessions and retreats (which occur periodically throughout the year) as needed.
·To carry out the duties of the position in accordance with College values and standards and in line with College policies and procedures, upholding high professional standards and leading by example.
