Introduction
The College of Medicine at the Prince Mohammed University is committed to delivering the highest quality medical education across the country. The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to the learning and teaching, research, governance and service agenda of the College.
General Description
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate medical students in General Chemistry, Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry, integrating fundamental chemical and biochemical principles with clinical applications. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, laboratory sessions, assessments, curriculum development, student advising, and participating in departmental research, accreditation, and quality assurance activities.
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
Minimum Required Education / Experience:
·A terminal doctoral degree (PhD) in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry is required. Including the flexibility to teach across multiple disciplines, expertise in the use of technology and active learning instruction.
·Three (3) years of relevant teaching experience in medical education with good research experience related including publications in international Journals and Conferences.
·Previous experience teaching in a medical school curriculum is highly desirable.
·Candidates are expected to have excellent command of the English Language.
·Candidates should be familiar with technology infused academic environments.
In order to apply for a position of Associate / Full Professor, candidates must provide a letter of promotion from an academic institution with a documented due process to the rank of Associate / Full Professor.
Duties and Responsibilities
General
·Prepare for, attend, and participate in monthly faculty meetings.
·Work on projects within at least one working group such as communication skills; write-up, oral case presentation and clinical reasoning; professionalism and ethics; mentoring; feedback and evaluation.
·Participate in and facilitate academy faculty development sessions and retreats (which occur periodically throughout the year) as needed.
·To carry out the duties of the position in accordance with college values and standards and in line with College policies and procedures, upholding high professional standards and leading by example
