
Be at the forefront of change and become a part of the innovative and forward-thinking academic team at the University of Michigan-Flint’s Physician Assistant Program in the rapidly expanding College of Health Sciences (CHS)! The College of Health Sciences seeks candidates for an assistant/associate clinical-track or tenure-track professor for the Master of Science in Physician Assistant program. This is a full-time position. The track will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials. This hybrid position requires a regular presence on campus. The PA Program at UM-Flint is an in-person academic program which requires a regular presence on campus to teach courses and participate in department activities. The current workload requires an estimated 3 days on campus per week. The desired start date for this position is June 1, 2026.

The principal faculty participates in teaching, service and scholarship in accordance with UM-Flint faculty guidelines. The position is a 12-month faculty position as an assistant/associate clinical track professor or as an assistant/associate tenure track professor. This position reports to the PA Program Director.
Responsibilities
Teaching
Teach both on-campus and online in the Master of Science in Physician Assistant program.
Scholarship
Maintains personal scholarship according to the CHS scholarship requirements for tenure-track or clinical-track faculty. Tenure-track faculty are required to have an active research agenda, establish their ability to conduct independent research and work collaboratively with other faculty in scholarly endeavors. Clinical track faculty are required to have an active research agenda and may achieve this by working with other faculty. In both clinical and tenure tracks, scholarly work is expected to make a contribution to and an impact on the profession/field/discipline, to interdisciplinary areas, and/or to pedagogical endeavors.
Service
All CHS faculty members are expected to provide service to the University, college, department, profession, and the community. Consistent with the mission of CHS and the University, professional service contributions to the Flint and regional community are valued, as well as national and international contributions. Engagement in service activities at multiple levels is required. The quality and impact of service contributions are more important than the number of different service activities.

Modes of Work
Hybrid
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
