Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for covering shift responsibilities in the absence/vacation of other shift Warehouse Leaders.
  • Assist Warehouse Manager and Raw Materials Manager in overseeing the Finished Goods and Raw Material Handlers on their shift.
  • Verifies adherence to all procedures within Safety, Corporate / Site Quality System, Operational Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintains and adheres to work instructions for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Ensures efficient movement and storage of all raw materials and finished product in all warehouses.
  • Maintains FIFO system of inventory as required by customers.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of transactions, product scanning, finished goods inventory, and inventory reliability.
  • Document all shipments both inbound and outbound.
  • Responsible for maintaining ISO and Food Safety standards.
  • Maintains communication between shifts, as well as departments.
  • Helps assign staffing to meet daily requirements in all warehouse locations.
  • Provides instruction to shuttle drivers regarding transfers to outside warehouses, and maintains accurate trailer inventory through DYMS.
  • Communicates repair of equipment and property.
  • Coordinates staffing requirements based on work load (adjusting levels by shift).
  • Provides performance evaluation and disciplinary purposes to shift associates.
  • Responsible for making sure warehouse associates are being properly trained with assigned Material Handler Training Program.
    • Assist with maintaining training material and keeping it up to date.
    • Responsible for making sure training and boards are completed within assigned time frame.
    • Responsible for performing performance evaluations on all shift associates.
    • Responsible for making sure all warehouse locations are meeting Plastipak Packaging GMP standards by supporting and enforcing cleaning of warehouse and proper storage of products.
  • Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner – assist in the training and testing of new hires and existing associates.
  • Must complete and maintain certification in First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action. Initiate action(s) for food safety issues and report the issue(s) and action(s) taken to a member of the Food Safety Team.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.

You Will:

You Have

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • 3 to 5 years prior related work experience.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs, climb on and off lift and to sit, stand and move about the facility.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
