We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Traditional Funds.

In this role, you will:

  • Review and authorize valuation and unit price calculations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to agreed controls. Ensure the team meets daily/weekly/monthly reporting requirements and delivers in line with agreed Key performance indicators, quality standards and client cut-offs.
  • Maintain oversight of key operational drivers impacting Accounting and valuation outputs and client reporting, including dependencies such as cut-off management and peak-cycle planning, journals and their downstream impact, creation/cancellation activity, exception themes arising from upstream processes (e.g., cash allocation, rebalancing and order management) where they impact Accounting and valuations outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with client contacts and third parties (e.g., trustees, custodians), ensuring a professional, client-friendly service. Act as an escalation point for complex client/third-party queries; ensure responses are timely, accurate, and outcomes are documented. Coordinate service changes (including new business) to ensure effective onboarding/transition with minimal disruption to clients. operational Risk, Controls & Governance. Continually reassess operational risks, considering market/economic conditions, legal/regulatory requirements, operating practices, restructuring and technology change.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal/external audit points and regulator-driven actions. Ensure procedural documentation is current, controlled (versioning/ownership), and reflects actual practice; embed procedure updates as part of change delivery. Oversee error reporting, ensuring financial impact is assessed (including Profit and loss impact where applicable), root cause is identified, corrective actions are implemented, and preventative controls are strengthened.
  • Promote peer discussions and adoption of best practice across teams. Lead and/or support projects impacting Accounting and valuation, ensuring delivery is controlled, evidenced and aligned to client and risk outcomes. Own the Accounting and valuation change lifecycle for relevant initiatives: initiation, requirements, design review, User acceptance testing, implementation and benefits realization. Manage User Acceptance Testing for new/upgraded software as required (under guidance of Business Support where applicable), ensuring appropriate test coverage and scenarios, evidence retention and sign-offs, defect triage, re-test and readiness decisions, assessment of upstream/downstream impacts (including cut-offs, journals, creation/cancellation and other operational dependencies).
  • Maintain a change calendar aligned to peak cycles; ensure stakeholder communications, training and procedure updates are completed ahead of go-live. The jobholder manages a team delivering Non-Discretionary Dealing (NDD) services to Investment Administration clients, ensuring outputs are accurate, complete and delivered to agreed procedures, service levels and cut-offs, with continuous improvement of processes and controls.
  • The role maintains effective oversight of key end-to-end dependencies impacting client outcomes and Net Asset Value delivery, working closely with upstream/downstream functional areas within Markets Securities Services to manage impacts relating to order management, cash allocation/rebalancing, journals and creation/cancellation activity, ensuring exceptions are resolved or escalated promptly.
  • The jobholder is authorized to release dealings to Fund Managers and Transfer Agents on behalf of Investment Administration clients and has formal authority to sign off/release Net asset value, valuations and unit prices to clients and third parties, with accountability for delegated authorities and cover arrangements. The jobholder acts as an escalation point for production issues and is heavily involved in change/project delivery, including coordinating stakeholder input, supporting/managing User acceptance testing and implementation, and ensuring procedures and training are updated and embedded into Business as usual.

To be successful you will:

  • Level 3 education qualification - University Bachelor or higher Degree; Associate degree, Diploma or IOC Merit Award.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience in securities industry.
  • Experience of dealing directly with external clients and third parties.
  • Thorough knowledge of Investment Accounting and Fund Administration (Traditional Funds).
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload to meet deadlines, considering relative priorities.
  • Strong business sense and awareness of the key issues/risks within the Accounting and Valuations area.
