Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs

Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and student-focused leader to serve as its next Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. This leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the future of academic programs, support faculty excellence, and help advance a culture of innovation, quality, and student success.

Reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Vice President serves as a key member of the Academic Affairs leadership team, providing strategic leadership for instructional programs, academic planning, curriculum development, assessment, accreditation support, and institutional initiatives. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty, deans, and college leadership to ensure high-quality academic programs that respond to student, workforce, and community needs while advancing the College's mission and strategic priorities.

What You'll Do

• Provide leadership for the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of the College's academic programs and instructional services.
• Collaborate with academic deans, faculty, and administrators to support curriculum development, program review, assessment, and student success initiatives.
• Lead institutional efforts related to instructional quality, academic planning, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
• Foster innovation in teaching and learning while supporting faculty development and academic excellence.
• Build collaborative relationships with educational partners, business and industry, governmental agencies, and community organizations to strengthen academic opportunities and student outcomes.
• Assist in developing academic policies, strategic initiatives, and organizational priorities that support the College's mission and long-term goals.
• Represent Academic Affairs on college committees and with external stakeholders while promoting the College throughout the region.

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated success leading academic programs or instructional initiatives in higher education.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, accreditation processes, assessment, strategic planning, and academic administration.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships, lead organizational change, and inspire high-performing teams.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a commitment to student success and continuous improvement.
• Experience interpreting and applying higher education regulations, policies, and accreditation standards.

Examples of duties

• Master's degree from an accredited institution in education, higher education administration, or a closely related field.
• Progressive leadership experience in higher education administration, academic affairs, or instructional leadership.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience within a community or technical college environment.
• Experience with institutional accreditation, program review, assessment, and faculty leadership.
